I’m Joshua Vensel, and I’m a photographer.  I specialize in real estate, commercial, and event photography.  It’s an interesting combination, so I’ll explain how I’ve gotten here.  I’ve had the bug forever, but I began truly developing my eye and techniques in college as a photojournalist for The Lantern newspaper.  After earning my BA in Public Relations Journalism from The Ohio State University in 2002, I spent a year selling ice cream for Schwan’s in scenic rural Ohio, and then several years shooting boutique portraits and a few weddings in Dublin, OH for USA FOTO Inc., dba The Backstage Studio.

In 2006 I followed the love of my life down to Atlanta, GA.  In Atlanta I continued photographing weddings and portraits while I also connected with PierceMartin, marketing and photographing their luxury & collectible furniture.  Through my work with PierceMartin, I established and grew my understanding and appreciation for photographing interiors and interior design.

In 2009 my wife and I began looking at real estate listings for ourselves, and we discovered that a great amount of listings lacked photographs that would entice us to view more details, let alone actually go see the property itself.  Meanwhile, a home is the largest single purchase or sale that most Americans will make in their lifetime.  All things considered, I realized that with my skills and talents I could offer REALTORS and home sellers a greatly needed marketing tool at a reasonable price.  It’s important in competitive markets to stand out from the crowd, and it’s clear to me that better photographs stand out and create positive emotions with viewers.  This is why I create marketing photography for real estate.
